British Embassy Ankara announces Project Proposals on Women and Girls (Turkey)

The British Embassy Ankara is accepting project proposals on women and girls for the 2022 to 2023 financial year (September 2022 to March 2023).


Funding Information

Minimum budget limit: £30,000 (thirty thousand pounds sterling) including VAT

Maximum budget limit: £90,000 (ninety thousand pounds sterling) including VAT

Types of Activities

The following types of activities are eligible under this call for proposals:


  • conferences, seminars;

  • training activities;

  • advocacy missions;

  • other activities that help achieve the outcomes.

Outcomes

Working through women leaders and women’s rights organisations to provide support for women’s engagement and participation in political life;

Strengthen efforts to prevent forced and early marriages;

Prevent violence against women and girls (femicide in particular) by empowering groups, especially at risk of violence, including adolescent girls, and strengthening the implementation of laws, policies, and action plans on violence against women and girls;

Research projects which outline recommendations to improve equal rights for women and girls.


Eligibility Criteria

Projects will be funded for six months from September 2022 to 31 March 2023.

Successful implementers must receive project funding in Pound Sterling (£) and open a Pound Sterling bank account for the project.

Project bids should demonstrate 90% spend by 31 December 2022 and 100% spend by 31 March 2023.

The applicant organisation must be legally recognised (has ‘legal personality’) and they must be based in Turkey.

Potential implementers are allowed to combine efforts and submit their project proposals in a consortium of several organisations (implementers). Those could be international and local non-governmental organisations, multilateral organisations, universities, municipalities and governmental organisations. If this option is chosen, one entity should be the main Partner, which will coordinate efforts of the joint initiative and will be primarily responsible for the project implementation.

British Embassy’s visibility should be ensured in all project activities. Please note that project outputs such as communication materials and media products will be subject to additional approval processes by the Programme Secretariat in London. This may cause delays in the implementation process. Therefore, eligible applicants/co-applicants are encouraged to take this into consideration when preparing their proposals.

The digital spend – digital development costs in excess of £10,000 has to be depicted separately in the Digital Spend Proposal form and be approved by Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
