UN Women/Bangladesh Call for Proposals: Opportunities and Challenges for Gender Equality

UN Women call for proposals to develop a policy brief on the review of opportunities and challenges for gender equality financing in the context of post-COVID-19 recovery and LDC graduation.


Funding Information
  • The budget range for this proposal should be USD 25000– USD 30000

  • Timeframe: The assignment will be in between 10 August to 30 November 2022 (Maximum 50 working days) in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Results
  • An inception report, including detailed workplan and timeframe of activities

  • Report on stakeholder consultations (national and divisional level)

  • Draft Policy Brief highlighting opportunities and challenges for gender equality financing in the context of post COVID -19 recovery and LDC graduation

  • Report on validation of the Policy Brief with relevant stakeholders with a 2-3 pager brief and a PowerPoint presentation

  • Final Policy Brief

Eligibility Criteria
  • UN Women is seeking the services from research/institution to develop the policy brief. The team should comprise (at a minimum) the following:

    • Team leader:

      • PhD in economics, development studies or relevant fields

      • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in managing research projects

      • Demonstrable technical expertise in policy research on gender and macroeconomics, financing for gender equality

      • Demonstrable expertise in gender and social inclusion issues, feminist economics

      • Demonstrable work experience in providing high level policy advice to the Government

      • Extensive knowledge and experience in using computer software packages, including programme for statistical analysis of data with solid analytical skills and their implications


  • Gender Expert/Senior Researcher:

    • PhD in gender, economics, or related fields

    • Minimum 10 years of relevant research experience in the feminist economics area

    • Demonstrable technical expertise in gender and macroeconomics, financing for gender equality, social inclusion

    • Demonstrable work experience in providing high level policy advice to the Government officials, international and multinational institutions such the UN, IFI’s etc.

    • Extensive knowledge and experiences in using computer software packages, including programme for statistical analysis of data with solid analytical skills and their applications


  • Research Associate:

    • Masters/advance degree in gender studies, economics, statistics or equivalent

    • Minimum 5 years of research experience in qualitative and quantitative research including experience in using advance level computer software packages

    • Work experience and understanding on gender equality and macroeconomics, social inclusion, and diversity
